Michalis Moutselos is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Cyprus. His research lies at the intersection of comparative politics, migration governance, contentious politics, and European integration. He serves as Research Group Leader of The New Guards project at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, which examines how southeastern Mediterranean states have been reshaped as EU border regimes . He has published in leading journals including Governance, Political Geography, Journal of European Public Policy and Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies. Within the DISACT project, he focuses on coercive state practices and enforced disappearances, with particular attention to North Africa.
