Andreas Michael is a Special Research Scientist at the University of Cyprus and a Scientific Collaborator at European University Cyprus. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Cyprus, a Master’s degree in Group Processes and Intergroup Relations from the University of Kent, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cyprus. His research focuses on intergroup relations, collective memory, transitional justice, and conflict resolution, with an emphasis on the Cypriot context. His doctoral thesis explored the psychological mechanisms behind status quo justification and public perceptions of peace and reconciliation processes in divided societies. Andreas has participated in several nationally and internationally funded projects, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, and has published in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently involved in research on migrants interventions, prejudice reduction, and agent-based modeling in post-conflict societies.
